Sam's Chili

I grew up on canned chili and as I got older I just couldn't handle it anymore. I had heard stories of how my Papaw had some amazing chili though so I thought I may as well give it a go and see what I came up with. Now, it's one of my go-to's on cold wintery days!

Ingredients:

1 lb Ground Hamburger (or Turkey)

1 can Chili Beans

1 can diced tomatoes

1/2 packet of Williams Chili Seasoning

Instructions:

In a skillet, brown the ground hamburger or turkey. Once browned, add chili seasoning (I use half of a packet but you can use however much you like) and a bit of water if needed (less than 1/4 cup typically) and let simmer for just a couple of minutes after stirring. Then drain the chili beans and add them to the meat mixture followed by the diced tomatoes and I typically drain those too if necessary. Stir it all together and then let it simmer together for about 3-5 minutes. Serve as frito chili pie, just a bowl of chili with some crackers, or my personal favorite is to serve with a couple slices of Naan Bread.
